"To be hopeful in bad times is not just foolishly romantic. It is based on the fact that human history is a history not only of cruelty but also of compassion, sacrifice, courage, kindness. And if we do act, in however small a way, we don't have to wait for some grand Utopian future. The future is an infinite succession of presents. And to live now as we think human beings should live in defiance of all that is bad around us is itself a marvelous victory." -Howard Zinn

Farmers' Market, Araneta Center, Quezon City

“Shopping at Farmers Market is a wonderful experience. The tiled floors are dry and cleaned constantly. Sections are also color-coded. For instance, the meat stores are red; fish, blue; vegetables, green; fruits, yellow and flowers, pink. It ‘s like going to a fresh market in France where everything for sale is of the best quality. For example, if you buy fish here, it’s really the best and cheaper, too. Seafood deliveries take place twice a day, according to the helpful vendors, while the vegetables arrive straight from the province. Another great innovation is the use of pushcarts, which eliminates the use of ecologically hostile plastic bags. By the way, there are also comfort rooms with showers, drainage lines and exhaust blowers (to keep the air smelling fresh).” -Manila Standard Today

This makes me very, very happy. Wee!!!
