#2: Roots of Health

I would’ve posted this sooner, but I had to give birth and be a mom. :)

This is a great organization to support, especially if you want to show your support for the RH bill. Please share!

1. What does your nonprofit do? Who do you help?

We are a community health non-profit that focuses on women and children. We believe that healthy mothers have healthy children.

We help the most underserved communities in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

2. What are a few of the positive changes you’ve helped create in the Philippines? How do you know you’re making a difference?

Vitamins, food security, nutrition boosts, contraceptives, water purifiers, education. We track weight gains in the children and have seen positive improvements. We also measure the change in attitudes, knowledge and behavior or mothers and teens before and after the education sessions. Mothers are planning their pregnancies and making sure that they look after themselves and their children better. Most of the moms only have a grade 3 education and they love being in a learning environment.

3. Will a One Hundred Peso donation make a difference in your work? How? What is the easiest way to donate to your organization? Are there other ways for people to be involved in your work?

Yes, every little bit counts and makes a difference. (% program cost)
